Communications Manager

The communications manager is accountable for all of Refinery Media’s day-to-day deliverables of communications to media, growth of existing relations and new business development opportunities with media.

Key Functions

• Manage and oversee all day-to-day operations of Refinery Media’s corporate and consumer media releases and build a strong working relationship with media
• Monitor the development of project plans and company-related events
• Be proactive, suggesting new concepts and improvements to provide added value
• Identify opportunities within Refinery Media’s output and new business prospects, working with the executive producer and integrated marketing head on pitches, proposals and presentation
• Lead and develop direct reports to optimize utilization of team members to enable achievement of business plan
• Exhibit and reinforce the professional values and policies of Refinery Media
• Ability to churn and vet quality market standard press releases
• Ability to identify and pitch successful press releases to the media on all platforms

Essential Skills/Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years practice with either internal or agency experience (tertiary qualifications in the relevant field of study, preferably PR, Communications, Marketing)
• Existing relationship with media on all platforms (print, online, bloggers, consumer and trade)
• A team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills at all levels
• Solid understanding of client services and business environment (including contracts)
• Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to multitask
• Good financial skills, understanding pricing models, quotations
• Proven ability to motivate and manage internal team to meet objectives
• Ability to work under pressure and meet agreed deadlines
• Demonstrate creative problem-solving and ability to work with strategic concepts
• Sound understanding of media measurement for dissemination to internal team

Technical Knowledge

• Computer literate – Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
• Sound knowledge of through-the-line disciplines and techniques with a sound knowledge of the digital landscape
• Awareness of emerging industry trends within appropriate area

Social Media PR/ Community Executive

Responsibilities

• Able to speak and write Mandarin fluently
• Interest in Mandarin popular music and keeps abreast of Mandarin music charts
• Must have deep interest and passion in social media
• Report directly to the Head of Integrated Marketing and will work closely with clients of the company
• Main responsibility of your role is to develop robust digital strategies and build strong strategic relationships with clients that strengthen the company’s position
• Develop brand platforms and social media strategies
• Provide social media counsel to media programs, offer creative thinking to existing social media work, identify and train staff on social media tools, and to provide direction for new business opportunities
• Develop and execute branding campaigns for consumer clients, while maintaining a supportive work culture for the team
• Keep up to date in trends in public relations and emerging media
• Develop and execute public relations campaigns with a digital emphasis for the company’s clients
• Ability to translate trends, technologies and metrics into conversational English
• Experienced client counselor, relationship manager and account manager
• Flexibility to be a hands-on team player, adding value, creating strategies, programs and instructional guidance to all levels and teams
• Familiarity with building and presenting concepts/programs for clients and new business opportunities and;
• Have a passion to keep abreast with emerging media, with a basic understanding on how to apply tools and technology to client work, including but not limited to blogs, blogging, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Wikipedia, Skype, UStream, online gaming and apps, search engine optimization, Ad Words etc.

Producer

We are looking for a motivated producer with experience in TV/Video production. You must possess excellent creative writing and organizational skills. Bilingualism in Both Mandarin and English is a must.

Client management experience is a pre-requisite. You must be knowledgeable about the entire production process, from pre-production, production to post-production, and is a sensible, articulate, driven individual. Assistant Producer

We seek a dynamic team player with vast organisational and communicative skills. If you have experience doing background research, digesting scripts, breaking them down, drawing up schedules, calling to make arrangements with crew, location and sponsors, this job is for you.
