Often described as a charismatic, creative and determined individual, Karen Seah is a celebrated entrepreneur with vast experience in social commerce. Known to many as a renowned nightclub owner, Karen has built and operated a total of five respectable clubs in the region as well as consulted on several F&B-related projects.
As a closet geek with a background in Marketing and a Masters in Psychology, Karen decided to parlay her experience into Content development and Production with the birth of Refinery Media in 2009. Her strong grasp in marketing and interest in new technology and gadgets saw Refinery Media pioneering the usage on Social Media in an Asian-produced reality program.
Through the infusing of Media content with revolutionizing social trends, Refinery Media launched Supermodelme. The multi-platform reality-based programme takes advantage of new emerging technologies and redefines entertainment by creating hit properties for savvy technology users of the future. Proven to be a success, the inaugural Supermodelme reality programme was released on the web, but was subsequently picked up by a Cable TV network and aired in 27 countries. Supermodelme has since released a second season; Season 3 airs in the second quarter of 2012 and Season 4 begins production in the last quarter of 2012.
Sparked by her desire to use social media as a tool for Traditional television programming, Karen delves into the intricacies of various social networks constantly sourcing out for new arising trends and ways to integrate them into her productions. Her self-directed initiative earned her a unique reputation as a Regional Pioneer in Integrated Content Production.
Karen’s creative venture into social media and emergent technology integration has positioned Supermodelme at the vanguard of Asia’s changing media landscape- The first in its format to use social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Hypershot Technology and blogging in Asia. Supermodelme is a trans-media product that spans traditional and emergent media, using the affordances of each to tell a new kind of story.

Elliot Rudge
Head of Integrated Marketing
Elliot is a highly effective through-the-line advertiser, integrated marketer and communications specialist. Having been in the advertising business for several years prior to integrated marketing, he brings commercial savvy to any role and the ability to drive and develop business strategies. Elliot is highly creative and thrives on developing ideas that cut through the clutter. Elliot’s focus is always to deliver results for growing businesses. He develops brand & marketing strategies that are linked with effective tactical plans that integrate within the business, are simple, understandable and hence, fully implemented. During his 4 years at OgilvyOne, Elliot has worked with clients across many industries, namely the American Express, DHL and Diageo brands before leading Leo Burnett Singapore’s FMCG portfolio.
As a flexible and spontaneous individual, Elliot decided to move to Phnom Penh and join a boutique agency in 2008, there he successfully managed marketing the country’s top carbonated beverage, Coca-Cola, before working on the Unilever brands in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Throughout his career, he demonstrates the ability to grow and develop successful Multi-National businesses. Currently he works in Refinery Media as their Head of integrated marketing and works closely with various business partners to deliver and produce professional integrated solutions.
Priyanka Beswal
Integrated Marketing Executive
Originally from Bombay, India, Priyanka has a keen interest in digital art and animation, which led her to pursue an education at Lasalle College of the Arts where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Animation Art.
While she honed her creative instincts at Lasalle, she progressively explored her interest in marketing and client servicing through a series of contractual projects and internships. At her summer internship at an advertising agency, Concept Communications, she aided with account servicing, concept development and promotions for clients like Deloitte and Standard Chartered. Priyanka acquires extensive hands-on experience with her stint with the Asian Cultural Cinema Symposium taking charge as Programme Manager, where she successfully invited 16 renowned film makers and directors from the Asia Pacific region, while gaining local and international coverage. Locally she secured collaborations including TISCH School of the Arts Asia, Arts House Singapore, Albert Court Hotel and Stay Village among others.
She now joins Refinery Media’s integrated marketing team, which works with the likes of Shiseido, F&N, Nestle Fitnesse and StarHub. Aside from work, Priyanka spends her weekends watching movies and exploring her love for art, but is easily distracted by live bands and roof top bars!

Florence Grundy-Warr
Communications & Social Media Marketing Executive
Having been exposed to Public Relations and Journalism for two years, Florence is equipped with skills that specialize in crisis communications planning, media relations and copywriting. As a creative and spontaneous individual by nature, Florence sees herself taking a hiatus from her comfort ground as she joins Refinery Media and delves into the intricacies of the social networking world as a Communications & Social Media Marketing Executive.
With her valuable experience in both Thailand and Singapore, Florence articulates Refinery Media’s messages through the projection of an honest, positive image that signifies a high professional level of competence and demonstrates her broad knowledge and proficient judgment in the Communications Industry.
In addition to her achievements at work through her partake in numerous high-profile communications initiatives, from corporate and product restructurings to community engagement efforts, Florence shows dedication to her passion of the Arts. She is a passionate contemporary dancer and inline skater, who expresses her emotions through her movements and drawings. Throughout her years, Florence has achieved several national awards and has worked as an Art, Math and English enrichment teacher.
Aside from her participation in anti-animal abuse campaigns and humanitarian movements, Florence is unquestionably a people-person who displays dedication and forms strong bonds in every area of commitment.

Bryan Sim
Producer
Bryan is a qualified engineer who took a sharp turn into the mad world of the creative industry and has never looked back. After earning his ticket into the broadcast industry with a double major in Film/TV and advertising, he gained ground in the broadcast scene with his versatility in writing, producing and directing multilingual programmes. In a short span of time, he garnered a wealth of experience and rapidly built an extensive portfolio that consists of reality series, travelogues, magazine shows, educational programming, TV commercials, corporate videos and music videos.
His career path, coupled with his exposure to shoots of varying magnitudes, has prepared him beyond just producing. His early experiences have not only enabled him to think creatively on his feet, but also to equip him with technical skill sets that match the very best in the industry. Moreover, his vast knowledge and interest with the ever-evolving world of visual effects and post-production development makes him an even better all-round producer than he already is. Perhaps the only thing that he lacks is a life outside of the creative industry.
